Chair: Steffen Tom Schaefer (steffens@acm.org) is a Managing Consultant with IBM UBG, working for more than twelve years in Object Technology and component development. On various Pervasive Computing projects he has built wireless application platforms as well as applications for mobile computing – working in lead architecture roles, as well as a development lead / technical project manager. The last couple of years he has primarily spent in Scandinavia, involved with Mobile Internet projects for leading wireless service providers. In Central Europe, he’s helping car manufacturers on OSGi based Telematics clients and back end platforms.

Mr. Schaefer has organized various OOPSLA workshops before, on methodology and component development. He has published a book and a number of articles on object oriented methodologies.

Steve Marney (steve.marney@eds.com) is an Enterprise Consultant at EDS and has over fifteen years experience developing intelligent and object oriented systems in Manufacturing, Engineering and Financial industries. Mr. Marney co-chairs OMG's Manufacturing Domain Task Force and currently serves as chief technologist for application architecture and development within EDS's Enterprise Solution Architecture and Integration organization. He also consults internationally on artificial intelligence and distributed computing technologies, influencing architectural direction at the enterprise level.

Johan Vos (johan@acunia.com) received his MSc in mining engineering at the KULeuven in 1995. In March 2000, he received a PhD in Physics at Delft University of Technology. Prior to become Director of Product Development at ACUNIA, Mr. Vos has been a Java, Linux and IT consultant since 1996. He installed complete systems for ISP's and developed intranet and extranet software for various customers. In 1997, he joined the Blackdown team and ported Sun's JDK 1.1 to Sparc-Linux systems.

After having worked for ACUNIA as a consultant, Mr. Vos joined the company in January 2000. When ACUNIA joined OSGi in March 2000, Mr. Vos mainly worked on the bridge between OSGi and AMI-C. The outcome of this discussions was the formation of OSGI's Vehicle Expert Group, which is chaired by Mr. Vos.
